Check out five standout spots that will help you to survive the 9 to 5 life.

The Hideout SoCal Eats & Drinks

The Hideout SoCal Eats & Drinks is the latest food and beverage installation to be relaunched by STK at W Los Angeles – West Beverly Hills. Located adjacent to the hotel’s Wet Deck, The Hideout lives up to its name as a secluded poolside paradise featuring resort-inspired waterfalls, lush greenery and colorful decor. On the heels of the recent renovations, this tropical oasis boasts newly launched food menus featuring shareable plates inspired by the best of Southern California produce and designed specifically for the venue by STK Los Angeles Executive Chef Dennis Cruz. The menu is complemented by a creative selection of seasonal cocktails, made with fresh herbs and fresh-pressed juices, and classic cocktail twists. Try the Peach Tree made with CÎROC Peach,  ginger kombucha, honey and lavender or the bar also serves up a menu of signature cocktails, mocktails, plus a wine list focused on summery white and rosé wines, curated from across the globe.

Prank

Prank is DTLA’s first and only walk-up bar in South Park, which is poised to be DTLA’s next thriving neighborhood. In addition to a menu of organic, antibiotic- and hormone-free, non-GMO bar food, Prank is also the first to incorporate terpenes into select cocktails. Terpenes are oils derived from cannabis, but contain no THC, and are said to offer medicinal properties ranging from anti-carcinogenic to anti-inflammatory. Each strain of terpene provides a range of benefits, including waking up the next day feeling good and ready for work. Try the L’Aventura created with apricot, Deleon Reposado, beet and carrot aplomado, fresh citrus, limonene terpenes and raspberry or the Geppetto made with Bulleit Rye, fresh lime, genepy des alpes, pineapple, agave, pinene terpenes and basil. Prank also serves up Sugar Mama wines which actively support access to girls’ education and rights through their She’s the First initiative. Now that’s the kind of drink that will make you feel like a boss bitch outside the office.

Viviane

Viviane, the poolside restaurant at the Avalon Beverly Hills, features fresh, local cuisine with Californian and European influences. Operated by Proper Hospitality, the restaurant highlights the glamour of the 1950s as Marilyn Monroe and Lucille Ball were often spotted spending their time poolside. Viviane’s peaceful atmosphere is the ideal spot to retreat to after a stressful day at work, while feeling like a Hollywood star. You can also sip like a celeb with the Monroe Martini made with barrel rested gin, lillet, fino sherry and stone fruit or the Ginger Rogers made with tequila, pomegranate, ginger, soda and orange zest.

Calabra

Now open at Santa Monica Proper Hotel – Calabra rooftop, a spirited destination in the heart of L.A.’s urban beachside city. Only seven blocks from the beach, Executive Chef Kaleo Adams offers Mediterranean-inspired coastal dining, all coupled with an elevated bar and lounge scene. Calabra’s oceanside views and delicious food and drink menus make for the perfect post-work destination. Standout cocktails include the Washed Ashore made with Pueblo Viejo tequila, prickly pear, citrus and blue algae and the Seaside Snap made with Ahus Aquavit, Cynar, snap pea, pineapple and banana. On Sundays, they have live music so if starting the week on a high note is the goal, Calabra is the perfect spot.

Granville

Granville is one of West Hollywood’s go-to spots after the office. Their “Come As You Are” happy hour, specifically only at their WeHo location, offers an incredible selection of discount cocktails, beers, wines, and small bites ranging from uptown mac and cheese to their village burger or taco trio. For cocktails, they have a yummy Picante Pineapple Margarita with just the right amount of kick, the Gran Fashioned (their take on the old fashioned) and the Medicina if you like mezcal.  And no surprise they have something for everyone in typical Granville fashion, including a vegan burger and the devil’s advocate chocolate flourless cake, which is gluten-free. Warning: your jaw may hit the floor.
