Barstool Review: Olio e Piu in West Village

Located in the West Village, Olio e Piu is an accessible and convenient Italian restaurant, featuring a delicious pizzas and pastas, an enormous outdoor patio situated directly on Greenwich Avenue, and – most importantly – killer drinks.  With the weather finally warming up there is not much better than spending your weekends day drinking outside (I basically spend most of the week planning where I am going to spend my weekends drinking al fresco) and with a new and improved cocktail menu, and a kitchen that is open late, what’s not to like?

During a recent visit to Olio, we had the chance to sample a bunch of the new spring and summer drinks, including the Summer Olio cocktail (below right).

We also got a chance to taste the Blackberry Caipirinha, and the go-to Old Fashioned.

Summer Olio –   Plymouth Gin, St. Germain, cucumber puree & lemon juice.

Blackberry Caipirinha – Muddle blackberry, cachaca, lime juice and simple syrup.

Old Fashioned – Bourbon, maraschino cherry, muddle orange slice and bitter.
