Awesomeness Alert: Boozy Juice Boxes at NYC’s Junzi Kitchen

Fast-casual Chinese joint Junzi Kitchen is getting in on the drinks action with a brand new After Hours menu, featuring a selection of Chinese beers, cocktails made with unique ingredients and oh-so-Instagrammable boozy juice boxes.

Alongside bites by chef Lucas Sin, the After Hours late night bar menu – available at the Bleecker Street location every Friday and Saturday from 9:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. – features cocktails crafted in partnership with American Cocktail Company like the Tsingtao Mule with Tsingtao lager, Smirnoff vodka, ginger and elderflower; the Cognac, Peach & Oolong with XO cognac, Georgia peach and mint oolong and the Mango, Jasmine & Rum, a blend of Sailor Jerry spiced rum, Mexican mango, jasmine and lime.

“It’s refreshing to see a completely new take on the Chinese food we are used to here in NYC, yet it is steeped in history and tradition,” explains American Cocktail Company co-founder Chris Wirth. “The attention to detail that Lucas puts into his menus excited us about the opportunity to collaborate and bring our expertise to his beverage menu. My favorite has to be the Mango, Jasmine Tea & Gin combination!”

But the boozy juice boxes are sure to be a major draw, too. The Vitasoy juice boxes, imported from China, are paired with boozy Nips and are available in flavors including Lychee vodka, Mango tequila, and Lemon Tea whiskey.

“It’s been very interesting to work on fruity cocktails that incorporate our house-made teas and favorite beers like Tsing Tao. We’re just getting started with this partnership and are very excited to keep mixing new cocktails for After Hours: perhaps baijiu?”

Hungry after all that drinking? Try the General Chu’s Chicken, Junzi’s crispy and spicy take on Chinese fried chicken, coated in sesame-chile sauce; the Jaja Wings, a yummy dish of confit chicken wings, deep fried and served with jaja aioli and the Fried Custard Bao, a fried custard bun glazed in condensed milk with buckwheat and poppy seeds.

So much yes.
