Over the past year, it literally feels like Dante has been taking over the world. Probably because it is. In Dante’s latest pop-up, they take over New York’s iconic Gramercy Tavern from now through February 9th serving up “The Martini Hour” each day from 4pm – 7pm. Dante truly is the industry leader in pop-ups, but they always bring that hospitality A-Game that earned them the #16 slot on the 2017’s World’s 50 Best Bars list.
The drinks menu has been created by Dante’s charming and talented Creative Director, Naren Young. Offerings will range from the Olive Oil Martini with olive oil washed vodka, olive vermouth, olive bitters, olive mist, and house cured olives, to the Rose Petal Martini made with hendrick’s, manzanilla, lychee, peychaud’s bitters, saline, and rosewater. Dante’s specialty Tableside Martini Service will also be available, which serves up to six people and includes plymouth gin, dry vermouth, and orange bitters with all the trimmings.
During the takeover, all martinis will be prepared by Dante bartenders and served in typical Dante style. “For us to be able to collaborate with Gramercy Tavern is a very exciting opportunity to bring a little taste of the unique drinks and service touches from Dante to a new clientele,” says Young. “especially to those who already appreciate the finest food and beverage in the country.”
The collaboration between the two institutions is a natural fit. “There is no restaurant bar or bar program that we hold in higher regard than the Gramercy Tavern,” says Dante Co-Owner Linden Pride. “We’re thrilled to be able to share ideas on hospitality, great drinks and food with some of our true mentors within the global restaurant community.”
Gramercy Tavern Executive Chef Michael Anthony will create an antipasti menu to pair: Options to be paired with martini varietals include Crab Salad with Pepper Sauce, Beef Frittata with Blue Cheese and Lobster with Balsamic Caviar amongst others.
