What to Drink + Eat At South Beach Wine and Food Festival 2020

Cocktail-sipping and wine-loving foodies, from all over Florida and the country, are snapping up tickets to all the best events for the 2020 South Beach Wine & Food Festival (SOBEWFF®).  The Magic City’s most anticipated annual culinary event will feature more than 100 events all across Miami as well as Fort Lauderdale from February 19 – 23, 2020.

Presented by the Food Network & Cooking Channel, the five-day foodie festival will showcase the talents of the world’s most renowned wine and spirits producers as well as chefs and culinary personalities. At all of the festival’s culinary events, dishes can be paired with fine wine, premium beers and specialty cocktails. 

Here are some of the top signature festival events, late-night parties and walk-around tastings at the 19th annual edition of the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, -and what to drink:

Art Of Tiki Cocktail Showdown

This late-night, poolside event will feature Polynesian flare and tiki-inspired cocktails made with Bacardi rums -and, as a new twist, Patrón tequila. Guests, along with an esteemed panel of local judges, will vote on tiki creations from some of Florida’s best bartenders at the trendy Surfcomber boutique hotel, and crown the Tiki-King –or Queen, at the end of the night.

Dim Sum & Disco

Hosted by Molly Yeh, the star of Food Network’s series Girl Meets Farm, this late-night party will transform the elegant courtyard and grounds at The Setai on South Beach into one of Asia’s famed street markets. The evening will be bursting with high-energy beats and a carnival of flavors created by South Florida’s most innovative chefs. Enjoy dumplings, sushi, meaty skewers, and – all complemented by Gekkeikan Sake and specialty cocktails from Fifty Pounds Gin, Strega Liqueur and Zignum Mezcal.

Sips & Dips

Hosted by Adam Richman, star of Man Finds Food on Travel Channel, this Saturday afternoon happy hour affair is a chance to dunk around the world, showcasing a variety of international flavors through a vast selection of sauces, aiolis, marmalades, tapenades, and more. An event dreamt up by Adam Richman himself, guests will sip on wines from Avissi Prosecco and Bieler Père & Fils and refreshing spritz cocktails from Patrón while exploring an array of sweet, savory and spicy concoctions designed to really dive into.

Nu Deco Ensemble Evening of Wine, Food & Music

This new event added this year will feature the Nu Deco Ensemble, Miami’s own eclectic chamber orchestra, along with a special musical performance by Rev Run for this open-air concert experience.  Walk around this outdoor music event and enjoy late-night bites by Politan Row, a Food Hall group located in Miami’s Design District as well as with Houston, Chicago and New Orleans, complemented by sips of wine from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio.

Barilla’s Italian Bites On The Beach

Hosted by America’s beloved queen of Italian cuisine and Emmy-winning Food Network TV star, Giada De Laurentiis, kicks off the Festival weekend under signature white tents in the sand for a grand Italian feast, all paired perfectly with wines and refreshing libations from the Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits portfolio.

Best Of The Best

The best event during the best weekend of the year gathers 60 of the nation’s top chefs –which include James Beard Award nominees and finalists to Food & Wine Best New Chefs, to showcase their most gourmet samplings to pair with over 100 wines rated 90 points or higher on event presenter Wine Spectator’s scale at the glamorous Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

Heineken Burger Bash

Rachael Ray hosts this chef-driven, burger competition where an esteemed panel of judges -such as Food Network’s Geoffrey Zakarian and Goldbelly’s Joe Ariel, will decide who will receive this year’s Schweid & Sons The Very Best Burger Award.  Meanwhile, guests vote for the Heineken Light People’s Choice Award, while grazing on offerings while sipping on refreshing Heineken beer, wine selections from Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery and MERF wines, and cocktails from Tito’s Handmade Vodka under white tents nestled in the sparkling sands behind The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach hotel.

Beachside BBQ

Emmy award-winning rockstar Chef Guy Fieri is back to host the Festival’s most iconic barbecue celebrations, sponsored by Coca-Cola, on the sands of South Beach. America’s most fearless pitmasters and grill maestros will be roasting their most mouth-watering creations low and slow on the beach. Cleanse your palate with refreshing MERF and 14 Hands wines and specialty cocktails from Larceny Bourbon, Old Town Tequila, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka as well as ice-cold Coca-Cola beverages -all while listening to energetic tunes, including a live country performance by ABC’s American Idol season 17 winner, Laine Hardy.
