Copper and Oak may remind some of the periodic table and trees lining the street you grew up on. For anyone who drinks, it will conjure a far more primordial, inherent, distinction: whiskey. Copper & Oak in NYC has set itself apart as the whiskey den of choice to indulge in over 1,000 spirits hailing from Heaven Hill Kentucky to Yamazaki Japan.
Such a spirit as whiskey can warrant a sommelier level of knowledge and potentially cost a pretty penny. Now you don’t need either to indulge in a night of great sipping: Copper & Oak is now bringing in experts at a new, and free, “Meet the Master” tasting series, featuring brands like Mitcher’s and Bruichladdich who will have their pros in house to guide you through tastings for a high-end happy hour.
Did I mention it’s free?
If Single Malt Scotch isn’t your thing, spirit offerings also include mezcal and cognac in addition to the wide range of whiskies. The luminescence of Copper & Oak looks and feels like whiskey and if you are looking to get a level of one-uppery in whiskey knowledge than grab a seat. Seating and standing space is indeed limited in the cozy space with only 8 stools and it’s a first come first serve basis.
