The glamorous Pulitzer Amsterdam’s lobby bar was voted Netherlands’ ¨Best Hotel Bar of 2019¨. Pulitzer’s Bar recently launched a new menu featuring 12 cocktails inspired by Agatha Christie’s best-known crime novel “Murder on the Orient Express.” Each drink carries the name of one of the characters from the book, with ingredients and tasting notes that reflect the characteristics of these characters in the cocktail.
We rounded up a few usual suspects, er, cocktails to closely investigate at Pulitzer´s Bar:
Murder on the Orient Express Cocktails at Pulitzer’s Bar – Amsterdam
Refreshing with a kick; Tanqueray 10 Gin, Blueberry & Wasabi Shrub, Yuzushu (yuzu liqueur) and Champagne; and garnished with a Shiso Leaf.
Crisp, aromatic and dry; Hendrick’s Orbium Gin, Extra Dry Vermouth, Campari, Muyu Chinotto Nero ( Campari-like liqueur) and Awamori (Japanese sake-like spirit).
Spirit-forward; Banana Pierre Ferrand 1804 Cognac, Lillet Blanc, Del Maguey Vida Tequila and Orange-Chocolate Bitters; over a big Ice Cube and garnished with a Chocolate Stick.
Light, refreshing and citrusy; Porter’s Tropical Old Tom Gin, Clear Lemon, White Grapefruit Tea and Tonic; and garnished with Citrus Powder (upcycled citrus zest pulverized with salt, sugar and citric acid).

Rich and exotic; Diplomatico Mantuano Rum, Passion Fruit Puree, Red Wine Reduction, Espresso and Grapefruit Soda; and garnished with drops of Cardamom droplets and Grapefruit Zest.

Bright and plumy; Bulleit Rye, Rutte Old Tom Genever Gin, Akashi-Tai Umeshu (plum-infused Ginjo sake), Cocchi Americano, Plum Bitters, Boston Bitters; and garnished with a big Caper Berry.
Fresh, velvety and herbal; Don Julio Tequila, Blue Corn, Poblano, Coriander and Lime; and garnished with Corn Cobb.
