Travis Brown shows us how to make the Last Word classic cocktail. This cocktail is made with all equal parts Gin, Lime Juice, Green Chartreuse, and Maraschino Liqueur. Travis Brown works at The Last Word Cocktail bar in Astoria, Queens.
This is a gin-based prohibition-era cocktail that was originally developed at the Detroit Athletic Club. There are a number of riffs/variations of this cocktail usually replacing the gin with a mezcal or a rye whiskey.
The Last Word Drink recipe
- 3/4 ounce of Lime Juice
- 3/4 ounce of Green Chartreuse
- 3/4 ounce of Maraschino Liqueur
- 3/4 ounce of Ransom Old Tom Gin*
*You can use any gin can be used. The Last Word in Astoria uses Ransom Old Tom Gin
The Last Word cocktail instructions:
Add equal parts to a shaker and shake with ice. Pour into a Nick & Nora cocktail glass.
