Miami may never have the chance for a white Christmas, but a boozy one is definitely bound to happen. This marks the first year for Miami to take part in NYC’s famed Miracle pop-up now that the DRINK Miami team have brought Miracle in Miami to Wynwood in the back room at Gramps, a popular hangout spot in the artsy neighborhood.
Like the other Miracle locations, guests can sip on holiday-themed cocktails served in custom glassware created by Cocktail Kingdom, while singing along to favorite Christmas songs — Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is the biggest crowd pleaser. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best ugly sweaters and are often rewarded with Naughty or Nice shots on the house. A snow machine has proven to popular with Miami guests , as the hourly snowfall causes screams of joy and adds to the magic of the crazy Christmas decor.
Live Christmas music, holiday karaoke, guest bartenders, and surprise complimentary cookies from local late night cookie delivery service, Night Owl Cookies, are just some what can be expected inside this decked out Christmas bar.
While Miracle’s sister concept Sippin’ Santa with tiki style drinks may have seemed more of a fit with South Florida’s always tropical weather, DRINK Miami co-founder, Gabe Urrutia says, “We loved the cocktails and glassware that went along with Miracle and thought it was a great idea. We felt it really captured the spirit of Christmas, and in Miami that’s special since we don’t have the opportunity to see the seasons change.”
In true Miami fashion, the Jingle Balls Eggnog with cognac, sherry, brown butter, cinnamon, vanilla, almond milk, sugar, egg, nutmeg and Bad Santa a milk punch with Barbados rum, Trinidad overproof rum, Batavia Arrack, pineapple juice, lemon juice, almond milk, 8 spices, coconut water, coconut oil are served frozen and there’s often a midnight twerk off with Santa where the soundtrack temporarily changes to Miami booty-shaking tunes.
Celebrate Christmas seven days a week with Miracle in Miami open Sunday through Thursday from 7pm to 1am and Friday and Saturday until 3am. Open now through midnight on Christmas Eve.
