New Yorkers are known for being extremely vocal and proud to represent their city and Old Forester wants to challenge bartenders to take their hometown pride to a more local level with the Battle of the Boroughs. Thirsty wants to see bartenders from all FIVE boroughs – Manhattan, Brooklyn, The Bronx, Queens and Staten Island – show their skills and love for their hometown in a cocktail competition that celebrates New York’s diversity.

Thirsty is hosting this regional bartender along with our friends at Old Forester because we love New York and want to explore more bars and bar talents that may not yet be on our radar. Bartenders can either live or work in the Borough that they choose to represent. Over the course of this search there will be a couple of phases that test the ability of New York City’s best bartenders, beginning with the online submission of their recipe, and a consumer vote to the top bartender in each of New York’s 5 Boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island).
Battle of the Boroughs Challenge
Create an original Old Forester Cocktail inspired by one of the 5 boroughs that highlights the balanced flavor of Old Forester. Submit your recipes at https://botb.oldforester.com/ along with your information for a chance to be entered into the contest. The objective for each bartender is to display creativity in creating and naming an original cocktail recipe that’s inspired by vintage cocktails like the “Brooklyn” and Bronx”.
The Prize:
A winner will be named from each Borough based on consumer votes and be awarded a Bartender Spotlight along with a photoshoot and cocktail video to be on ThirstyMag.com and on our social media platforms.
