The iconic bar institution, Death & Co, has created cocktails to celebrate the season two premiere of the TNT network series, The Alienist: Angel of Darkness. Created by Death & Co. New York’s Head Bartender, Shannon Tebay, Sara’s Evening Ritual cocktail is inspired by the character Sarah Howard and is a twist on the classic Gold Rush with a few variations to add complexity.
The series itself shines a light on the provocative issues of the turn of the 19th century – the corruption of institutions, income inequality, yellow press sensationalism, and the role of women in society. To toast the show’s season premiere, Death & Co bartenders created ten exclusive cocktails inspired by the show, its characters, and the era itself. We suggested Sara’s Evening Ritual as the ingredients are readily available and it is easy to make at home.
Sara’s Evening Ritual Recipe
- 2 oz of Bourbon
- 3/4 oz of Honey Syrup
- 3/4 oz of Lemon Juice
- 8 – 10 Mint Leaves
- 5 Dashes of Angostura Bitters
Combine all ingredients into a tin, shake until homogeneous and cold, strain into a rocks glass over ice.
