Tribeca Whiskey Den Ward III Reopens With New Cocktail Selection

Ward III is back after a nearly two-year closure with brand new cocktails and bites. The Tribeca whiskey hangout – from hospitality group Public House Collective – was closed down for renovations to the building but is back in action, and longtime fans of the spot couldn’t be happier.

With sweeping ceilings and a full-length bar, Ward III has been one of the premiere places to drink in downtown Manhattan since it opened in 2009. And while the closing was a hit to the ‘hood, Ward III is being welcomed back with open arms with a new selection of cocktails and light bites.

The Butcher at Ward III

The menu has been created by Head Bartender Sarah Akromas, using seasonally driven libations and house-made infusions. Check out drinks like The Butcher with Highland Park Magnus, Amaro Montenegro, Blandy’s 5yr Medeira, Cinzano Bianco, chocolate bitters and salt (image above), The Spaniard with Seagram’s gin, Amontillado sherry and Cynar and the Ward III Whiskey Sour (image below). The Just Beet It is another one to try, with fresh squeezed beet and ginger juice with mezcal.

Hungry? Try the bar snacks like grilled cheese, deviled eggs with smoked trout and an assortment of flatbreads. They are the perfect compliment to those boozy craft cocktails.

Bottom line: it’s good to have Ward III back.
