With all that is going on in the World, we often feel like we just need a drink. So what better than to raise a glass and drink up to benefit others. From now through November 1st, Untitled at The Whitney will be serving up the Don Q Puerto Rico Relief cocktail to help the island’s recovery. This charity cocktail campaign is also powered by Union Square Hospitality Group, that owns and operates Untitled, who will give $5 that will be matched with $5 from Don Q to give a whopping $10 from each cocktail to The Food Bank of Puerto Rico.
As relief efforts require a team, this cocktail was a joint effort by bartenders at Untitled. USHG explains, “The team was excited to be able to contribute to this campaign to support relief efforts, as some team members have friends and family in Puerto Rico. Forrest Seasons, Untitled’s Assistant Wine & Beverage Director, was inspired to see the whole team come together and get behind this effort.”
From Don Q (about the fundraising effort): “The magnitude of the devastation that Hurricane Maria wrought upon Puerto Rico is unprecedented and heartbreaking. Don Q Puerto Rico Relief Cocktail Recipe
- 1.5 oz Don Q Añejo Rum
- .75 oz Royal Combier Orange liqueur
- .25 oz Luxardo Maraschino
- .5 oz lemon juice
- .25 oz orange juice
Shake & strain, serve in a coupe or martini glass with a brandied cherry and orange slice.
