If you’ve ever had your heart broken around this time of year, Valentine’s Day can feel like pouring salt into an open wound. Don’t let those flower and candy companies tell you how to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Embrace your single status at the Breakup Bar Popup, an anti-Valentine’s Day champagne celebration taking over space next to Severance Wine Bar. Now through Feb. 15, the space is transformed into a place to mend broken hearts with the Wall of Broken Relationships, classic breakup movies on a 10-foot projection screen, indulgence desserts and plenty of drinks to drown those single tears. One of our favorite (and most relatable) cocktails is the I Dealt With Your Parents For Years made with Caperitif, lime, grapefruit soda, habanero bitters and black salt rim. Sweet Heartbreak at Birds & Bees

Coastal Baja-inspired restaurant and bar SOL Cocina in Playa Vista is getting into the Valentine’s spirit with festive cocktails for the holiday and all month long. Created by SOL’s Director of Beverage Colin Pflugradt, the restaurant is offering the Rose and Hibiscus Margarita, part of their rotating, monthly Farmers Market crafts utilizing seasonal winter fruits and blossoms. The cocktail is made with Casamigos Blanco infused with dried hibiscus flowers and rose buds for 36 hours. Once infused, the margarita is prepared by shaking up the tequila with fresh lime juice, agave nectar, and splash of soda, and garnished with a few dried rose buds and hibiscus petals dusted over the top.
