Where to Drink & Dine for Miami Spice 2019

From August 1 to September 30, Miami Spice, an annual summer restaurant promotion, will showcase the very best of Miami cuisine with dining deals at some of the Magic City’s hottest restaurants.  This two month long dining event is an excellent opportunity to explore cocktail menus along with three-course meals, featuring signature dishes created by world-renowned chefs at reduced price.

Here are our drink and food recommendations at three hotspots participating in Miami Spice 2019:  Cleo South Beach, Fi’lia South Beach and Lobster Bar Sea Grille

Cocktails & Miami Spice Dinner

Cleo South Beach at the Redbury

At this Miami outpost of Chef Danny Elmaleh’s original Mediterranean restaurant in Los Angeles, enjoy signature mezze style dining with his acclaimed specialty cocktail program using fresh juices and ingredients.

Janapolitan

Vodka, Strawberry, Basil and Lime.

Moroccan Dawn

Gin, Aperol, Mint, Lemon and Orange Bitters.

Clementina

Vodka, Basil, Serrano Chili, Lemon and Orange.

Cleo’s Miami Spice prix fixe dinner menu is perfect for sharing; starting with mezze (small plate) options.  A great choice is the Lebaneh – a tasty Lebanese cheese spread of feta, Greek yogurt, spicy za’atar and olive oil served with warm Laffa flatbread.  Next, a choose a Nish Nash (snack), like Crispy Brussels Sprout ‘Chips’, before your shared main course, such as the deliciously sweet and spicy Apricot Lamb Tagine, served from a cone-shaped Moroccan earthenware pot, with fluffy Basmati rice.

You may have room for dessert if you select the baked to order Apple Galette served with vanilla ice cream – and so worth the 20 minute wait.

Cocktails & Miami Spice Lunch

Fi’lia South Beach at the Berkeley Shore

This ultra chic restaurant serves delicious, but unpretentious, Italian cuisine with an excellent selection of cocktails and wines.

Spicy Paloma

Spice infused Don Julio Tequila, Grapefruit, Aperol and Prosecco.

Sour Grandfather

Johnnie Walker Red, Disaronno, Lemon and Orange Juice, then, topped with Egg White.

Parched

Absolut Lime Vodka, Cucumber, Parsley-Lemon Syrup and Club Soda.

Start with Antipasti, like the yummy Tempura Fried Zucchini Flowers stuffed with Italian cheeses and topped with rich tomato sauce.  For your Secondi, a hearty choice is the Tagliatelle Bolognese – homemade Tagliatelle pasta and Bolognese sauce made with veal and beef ragu; and the Espresso Chocolate Mousse topped with whipped cream as your Dolce.

Tip:  Go for the excellent Risotto al Funghi Misti –with wild mushrooms, creamy mascarpone and herbs on their Miami Spice dinner menu.

Lobster Bar Sea Grille – Miami Beach

This upscale seafood restaurant, located in the heart of Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood, has a stellar cocktails for brunch and dinner.

St. Germain

St-Germain Liqueur, Prosecco and Club Soda.

Bellini

Pureed In Season Peaches and Prosecco.

Mimosa

Fresh squeezed Florida Orange Juice and Prosecco.

Begin with the enjoyable Chops® Chopped Salad –created with fresh hearts of palm, chickpeas, triple cream blue cheese and drizzled with lemon basil ranch dressing.  For your brunch entrée, your decision is harder, but, you can’t miss with the scrumptious Nova Scotia Whole Butter Braised Lobster Benedict – brioche toast topped with shell-off lobster and slow cooked egg, then, topped with Hollandaise sauce, and served with grilled asparagus and potato cakes.  As your sweet, go for the Key Lime Bar topped with toasted meringue and seasonal berries.
